Boiler Operator - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Shire’s Los Angeles facility, near Glendale, is one of the world’s largest and most advanced plasma fractionation facilities. The facility features advanced technology to improve efficiency and quality in the processing of plasma proteins. Employing approximately 1,000 people, the facility has 679,922 square feet of manufacturing space and operates 24/7.
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Maintenance Technician with a specialization in Boiler Operations who ideally has experience in a manufacturing environment and has an understanding of GMP. The qualified individual will provide troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of Critical Systems, equipment and equipment components which include but are not limited to: distillation units boilers air compressors pumps, piping, and plumbing components. Assignments range from preventive maintenance and corrective work orders to urgent and emergency work orders.
Requirements include:
• Current City of Los Angeles Unlimited Steam Engineer license
• Knowledge of high purity water treatment systems, such as filtration, softening, reverse osmosis and water for injection is required
• Knowledge of Utilities Operations and maintenance required
• Basic computer skills such as email and internet is required
• High School diploma with a minimum of five 5 years of mechanical systems repair OR an Associate’s degree with a minimum of three 3 years of mechanical systems repair
• Must be able to work in a controlled environment that requires special gowning
• Must be able to work in the following without restrictions: Some confined space, Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions
• Experience with computerized control systems, specifically Delta-V, is strongly preferred

This position is Weekend Swing shift and is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
